Wow, last night's New Scream sure was a lot of fun !
Vegas Beach put on a really great set, I'd almost use the word groovy but someone might shoot me :) Visit them online at http://www.vegas-beach.com for more info on this band.
DJ Da Jive Talking Robot as always spun some really nifty tunes, where or where does this man find all those fun remixes? Check out his bands website at http://www.malhavoc.tv and mark December 2nd on your calenders b/c that is when this band will hit the New Scream stage!
The Vampire Beach Babes were of course fabulous and put on a really really fun and energetic show. Only these babes could get all the goths dancing to their version of Surfin' USA! I saw some cute girls spanking eachother in time with the song "Spank That Thing" (or is it Thang?). Baron Marucs wandered out into the crowd with his beachball too :) Musically very tight, very fun. http://www.vampirebeachbabes.com
Next months New Scream is a huge extraganza, featuring the following: Perdition, A Random Exit, Meridian Music's Chris Alexander and DJ Morgana. The sexy folks at To Die For Designs will be putting on a fashion show! October 7th is not to be missed!

Last year on November 16th 2003 we held the first New Scream Special Edition CD/release party which featured an all ages day festival, a 19+ evening event, 6 bands, 2 fashion shows, vendors, and the release of the New Scream compilition CD featuring 13 local bands live at New Scream.
Well, it's time to do it all over again!!
The New Scream Special Edition 2004 is scheduled for Sunday November 14th 2004 and will follow roughly the same format as last year. Details are still be finalized, so stay tuned !!
Want to give us some input?
From the entire list of bands that have played since the first Special Edition, we've narrowed it down to include only traditional full piece bands. But we'd like to hear from you, the Toronto gothic community. What bands would you like to see play? We value your input, and will take it into careful consideration when the invitations to play the Special edition are sent out. Look over the list and let us know who you'd like to see invited to play. Pick your favourite bands!
Head on over to http://www.toronto-goth.com and tell us what band you'd like to see !

Vegas Beach w/Red Light Rippers. DJ Havök
Vegas Beach is a really fun band, they describe themselves as:
SURF NOIR [surf no-waar], noun: A dark and twisted instrumental blend of goth, surf, New Orleans jazz, rockabilly, southern swamp blues and a pinch of country, garnished with a liberal sprinkle of camp.
You can check out their website at http://www.vegas-beach.com/
DJ Havök has been spinning in various clubs in Toronto for quite some time, including regular guest spots with DJ Shannon at the Dance Cave on Manic Mondays. |
